Pantries - All the things!

In a pantry, there can be quite an assortment of things that end up in there. Below are a few examples of pantries that I have organized.

My preference is to use what you have and shop your own house! Sure, it’s great to have matching storage items — but you can be amazed at what you can put together with what you have! Save those glass jars, and round up the baskets that aren’t being well used, then go from there. More tips below!

Before and After - Client Kitchen’s

This was a great example of using what you have! We didn’t purchase anything to organize this pantry -

but used items that were already in the pantry plus ones that were from her storage!

This was a mild clean-out - see the top shelf for the most dramatic change! We rearranged a little to keep like items together and snacks out of the way of little one’s hands!

The following section outlines a more detailed explanation of the process for how I organize a Pantry!

The Process:

Here we go! So many things here - very cluttered and many items that are expired or don’t belong. We cleared out EVERY SINGLE ITEM and organized by type of item. Then, we either threw out old expired items, donated items, or moved items to the correct part of the house. We accumulated glass jars, baskets and were able to consolidate a lot of items.

SO CLEAN.

Make sure to wipe down those shelves, counters and vacuum!

Now for the breakdown of what went where!

Above the washer and dryer:

  • From Right to Left: laundry items, jars of beans, seeds, pastas, etc.

  • Above, lesser used cookbooks, basket of crab tools (Marylanders!), basket of backstock, and plenty of kids paint and craft items.

  • Top shelf: bins of extra glass jars (used for decor, storage, etc.)

Red countertop:

  • Oversized containers for pasta, snacks and cereals plus containers for produce and a bag for snacks

  • Above, baskets for baking items and sweets, plus space for food items

  • Above, more storage for pastas and food!

  • Top shelf: Entertaining items used less often

Top two images are of the top shelf that is hidden from sight - full of entertaining items. And another view of the glass and OXO containers, with the shelf of kids’ items above.

And that’s that!

It takes a few hours, but with some time, patience, and cleaning products - these pantries are much more organized and easy to use!
