Sustainability.
I have been loving shopping local and also finding the best local spots to give donations to! Here are my top spots in Northern Maryland that you must check out. I’ve included the organizations that I may partner with you if you are in the position to donate goods after a project.
And below are favorites for shopping local that I love!
Have a favorite that I haven’t included? Send me an email!
Donations & Consignments
Ruth’s Closet
Baltimore, MD
Directly in partnership with House of Ruth, donations to Ruth’s Closet and proceeds go to support the mission of House of Ruth.
Goodwill
Westminster, MD
The largest Goodwill I’ve been to, with so much turnover of inventory. A great place to donate to support the local community.
Local Farms
Baughers Orchards and Farms
Westminster, MD
If you have younger kids, or even if you don’t, they have everything here. A free petting zoo, a market, pick-your-own fruit (we love the strawberries in June and apples and pumpkins in the fall). The wagon rides are so fun for all ages!
South Mountain Creamery
Middletown, MD
We haven’t visited this farm yet, BUT we do love their weekly delivery! The milkman is back for the kids, and their meat boxes are great. The ice cream is also the BEST and you can also buy it at Local Homestead or JB General & Butchery!
Spring Meadow Farms
Upperco, MD
We love it for the free petting zoo (notice a theme?), plants, flowers, local produce, freshly caught fish, crab meat, and Char’s BBQ stand!
John Brown General & Butchery
Northern Baltimore County, MD
Full of local everything: meats, delicious lunch specialties, SMC Dairy, and so much more. Seasonal farmer’s market across the street, too!
Local Homestead Products
I personally go for the meat selection - so many options. Tons of other local produce, dairy, and more. Free playground (huge!) and lots of activities on the weekend and throughout the seasons. CSA options, too!
Two Boots Farm
Hampstead, MD
This farm has a beautiful selection of flowers, and a flower CSA. They sell at local markets, too!
Westminster’s Farmer’s Market
A new stop for us on Saturday mornings, I have been loading up on veggies here. There are plenty of vendors to check out!
