Weekly Edit #2

Happy New Year!

Well, I’ve made it to Week 2! I’ve been making notes and keeping track of what inspired me this week and am sharing below! A few additional categories that will ebb and flow each week - as well as notes on recipes if we made them! And a disclaimer that may explain some of how this will look each week —- I’m habitually a month behind in my RSS reader soooo some of these articles or links may seem dated. Ah well! Enjoy!

Food:

Classic Chili - Wholesome Dish - Andrew was craving chili over the past week, so he found and made this dish! A basic but very good recipe. And I made this cornbread too - just subbed out the egg for applesauce to fit our allergies, and omitted the fun stuff due to time (bacon, onions).

Roasted Turkey - What’s Gaby Cooking - I bought a turkey through our local farm (that delivers - what a great Quarantine find this has been!) for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. We didn’t make it for Christmas, so why not make it now? Love this simple recipe - and added garlic inside the bird too! Pro Tip - I’ve printed this out and written down all time it takes so I can work backwards and know when to start!

Cranberry Orange Shortbread cookies - The View from Great Island - I have all the ingredients on hand so I pinned this and hope to make soon. So pretty!

Warm Winter Farro with Butternut Squash, Goat Cheese, Pecans and Cranberries - How Sweet Eats - I’m sure I’ve pinned this before but what a delicious and wintry looking bowl!

6 Things I’ve Let Go of During Quarantine - the Glitter Guide - Very self-reflective! I relate to all of these.

10 Positive Things I’m Bringing Into 2021—And What I’m Leaving Behind - Camille Styles - A very similar post - and I’m sure a popular trend for the New Year but this one resonates with me, and I like the reminder that others are feeling the same way!

Christmas Trees Were More Expensive - Fortune - Not shocking! I wonder if this trend will continue?

How Medela Lost Moms - Bloomberg - Interesting history of the breastpump and the effect it has with working moms. Medela’s also lacked innovation and is losing marketshare to innovative new companies!

Kids:

Young, Wild & Friedman - This is by far the best gift we got for the girls this year! If you need to get a 1 - 4year old (maybe even 5 or 6!) a birthday gift or an idea for future holidays - be sure to check out this small business early and often. Lots of ideas for sensory bins too, and option for subscription gifts. We loved the baby kit!

How I Organize My Kids Toys - Mama Notes - I started following her on IG and love her cute ideas! This is very practical - and aspirational! - idea that I want to save and possibly use down the road!

Fashion:

I’ve shockingly been pinning a few images to my Fashion Pinterest board, including the one below from Extra Petite. I’m loving the cropped winter coat and classic beanie. But where am I going in 2021?!
